Who said Universal Orlando is just for kids? On your next trip make sure to take a break from the rides to grab one of these awesome themed drinks for a little grown-up time at Universal Orlando.
On our last visit to the parks, we crafted our own theme park happy hour, trying out all of the best places to grab a drink at Universal Orlando, and here are our top picks!
1. Hog’s Head Pub at Islands of Adventure
Butterbeer is a solid daytime drink, but when happy hour rolls around, you might need something stronger. Head to the back of the Three Broomsticks restaurant in Hogsmeade for a wickedly tasty brew.
Inspired by the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Hogg’s Head Brew is a Scottish-style ale brewed specially for Universal Orlando.
2. Duff Gardens at Universal Studios Florida’s Springfield: Home of the Simpson’s
Throw back a few with Duff man in the Simpson’s inspired beer garden overlooking the pond on the edge of the Springfield: Home of the Simpson’s attraction.
On the outside of the beer garden, you’ll find all of the Duff beer bottle characters, and at the bar, you’ll have the choice of Duff beers brewed locally by Florida Brewing Company exclusively for Universal Orlando.
3. Hopping Pot in Diagon Alley
At this fine Happy Potter inspired drinking establishment you’ll have the choice of two specially brewed beers. Sip a stout called Wizard’s Brew or drink a Dragon Scale a Vienna style lager brewed specially for the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
If you have the kids, you can also order frozen Butterbeer and non-alcoholic Fishy Green Ale.
4. Moe’s Tavern at Universal Studios Florida’s Springfield (Simpson’s Area)
Grab a barstool in the life-sized recreation of Homer’s favorite hangout from the Simpsons cartoon. The drink of choice here is the flaming Moe, which was the focus of a very popular episode of the show.
Even though the Flaming Moe isn’t alcoholic, it’s still a must on your Universal Bar crawl because it’s just that cool. Duff beer is also on tap here, along with a constant flow of Simpson’s episodes on the TVs and Bart’s famous prank calls coming into the bar.
5. Harbor Nights at Lowes Portofino Bay Hotel
For a little bit of refined adult fun at Universal Orlando Resort, book your trip to coincide with one of the Habor Nights events. Held four times a year on the Venetian inspired harbor these events have date night written all over them.
A night of wine and gourmet food, this truly is one of the best Universal Studios for adults’ activities. It’s suggested that tickets be booked in advance online.
6. The Lone Palm Airport – Margaritaville at Citywalk
Catch a sundowner under the shade of a wing of Jimmy Buffet’s plane parked at Citywalk. The margaritas are hard to top here at the Lone Palm airport, and it’s the perfect way to chill out after a full day in the park.
7. Jakes Beer Dinner at Lowes Royal Pacific
A few times a year Jake’s American Bar plays host to a special beer lovers event full of great beer and amazing food. For the beer dinner, the restaurant’s Clipper Room is set for a night of craft beer and specially paired entrees prepared by award-winning chefs. Make sure to get your tickets to Jake’s Beer Dinner well in advance.
8. Hard Rock Velvet Sessions
Another adult experience at Universal Orlando is the “Velvet Sessions” held in the lobby of the Hard Rock Hotel on site. This intimate setting gets you right in front of some big names in music from past and present.
Get there early for the party before the session starts with plenty of drinks to start your grown-ups night out at Universal Orlando.
9. Toothsome Chocolate Emporium
While most come here for the awesome food, they also have some killer chocolate filled drinks here too. Some of our favorites are the Two Chocolate Stout special brewed for Toothsome and curious cacao.
If you eat here, you might need a drink to bring you down from the sugar high from the food on this chocolate-rich menu. This is one of our favorite restaurants at City Walk.
